Week 1

I meet up with my group mates and brainstorm over what ideas to conceptualize and after a long discussion, my group mates and i come up with the idea of developing a system the tracks the distribution of drugs by the national medical stores.

Write a concept paper and submit!!!

Week 2

The concept paper is approved and Mr Kamulegeya Grace is assigned as our supervisor.

I refine the idea and narrow the scope of the project. I resubmit the concept paper for verification.

Week 3 & 4

I do an initial field study of the project  we propose to develop. I check out the National Medical Stores Website such that i see if there is any relevant information about this Government organ.  I also go to the NMS offices in Wandeyega alomg Bombo Road on Esami Building where i am referred to the main offices in Entebbe. From there, i am able to collect the relevant information that is resourceful to the our proposal, i am able to understand how the current distribution system of drugs operates, identify the loopholes and how our proposed system mitigates these problems.

Proposal writing

Using the information i gathered, we sit down as a group and structure it. I am able to come up with the first version of our proposal.

Meeting the supervisor

I meet Mr. Kamulegeya Grace. He reviews our work and put emphasis on sections where alterations are to be made. Iam also informed that he will be meeting us on a weekly basis to  monitor our progress.

After several modifications and evaluations of the proposal, I am able to submit in to our Supervisor.

Documenting of the SRS

I start documentation of the software requirements specifications. Here, due to time constraints, we divide the different sections of the document among ourselves. Each member focuses on a section which they write in their own timing. We meet as a group and discuss, rationalize as well as compile the work. 

After several modifications and reviews from our supervisor, i am able to conclude our requirements document.

Design documenT

Here, i am working the the system architecture where i sub divide all the functional requirements into independent modules. I use microsoft visio to illustrate the relationships between the modules and how how they are interface with the various system users. 

I then go further ahead to explain what does module does in the system.

I also use a software known as balsamiq mockups to come up with screen mockups for our system. I come up with the login screen, home page, make complaints page, view available drugs page, view delivery schedule page among others. I go further to explain what each screen shot does and how it is manipulated by the user. I then come up with a representation of the logical flow through all the screen shot as manupilated by the user.
